Privacy Policy

I keep things simple. This site collects as little personal information as possible, and I don’t track or profile visitors.
What data I collect
The only information I receive is what you choose to send:
- Email or phone: if you email or ring me, your name, your email address or phone number, and what you say. There is no contact form on this site.
- Orders: your name, email address, delivery address, and what you ordered.
I do not collect behavioural data, precise location, advertising data, or anything similar. There is no analytics service and no tracking code on any page.
Like any web server, this one keeps a log of the requests it gets: your IP address, the page asked for, the page you came from, the time, and the name of your browser. I use it to keep the site working, to block attacks, and to see roughly how many visits the site gets, as totals with nobody picked out. It never leaves this server. It is deleted after 30 days, and it isn't kept in any backup.
Nothing loaded from anyone else
Every file these pages use comes from this server, fonts and icons included, so opening a page here tells no other company that you visited. The map on the contact page is a picture. Clicking it opens the live map on OpenStreetMap's own site, which is then under their privacy policy.
Cookies and storage on your device
This site sets no cookies at all.
The one thing it keeps on your device is the shop basket. Add a print and the basket is saved in your own browser's storage, so it is still there on the next page and next visit. It never leaves your browser until you go to checkout, and emptying the basket or clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
Prints & orders
Prints and products are purchased through the shop. Payments are processed securely via Stripe: checkout takes you to Stripe's own payment page, and your card details go to Stripe, never to this site. BroadlandAstro.com does not store any payment or billing details. Order details are kept in an encrypted database.
If you start a checkout but don’t pay, the name and email address you typed in are still kept in that database. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
How I use your information
I only use your information to reply to you, and to make, post and look after your order — including emailing you about it. Nothing else.
Sharing your data
I do not sell or rent your data, and I don’t use tracking or advertising services. When you place an order, it is shared only with:
- Stripe — to take your payment.
- Parcel2Go and the courier delivering your parcel — your name, delivery address and email address, to deliver your order and send you tracking updates.
- My framing partner — for framed prints only, your name and delivery address, so they can send it straight to you.
- My printer — for canvas prints only, your name and delivery address, so they can send it straight to you.
For paper prints, which I post myself, my printer is only told which image to print and at what size — never who it’s for.
Email to and from me goes through StartMail, my email provider, and phone calls and texts through Andrews & Arnold, my phone provider, the same way any email or call goes through someone's provider.
Data retention
Emails are kept only as long as needed for normal communication. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
Order records are kept until five years after the tax return for the year of the order is due (31 January), because UK tax law requires it. After that they are deleted.
Your rights (GDPR)
- Request a copy of any information you’ve sent me
- Ask me to correct or delete your information
